Recently the men in our family celebrated their 80th and 90th birthdays. These men remind me of mighty trees that always stand a little taller or stretch themselves a little further than the others. In all these years they have accomplished much, living good lives, bringing immense blessings to their immediate and extended families. Our lives are so much fuller and richer because of them.
Ruth 4:15 - He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age.
With Spring comes varied sounds…the twitter, chirp, tweet, trill and songs of birds, among the busyness of life. Who does not love listening to the singing of cardinals and the chirping of robins! With Spring also comes the sound of motorbikes that have hibernated in garages all winter and are now speeding down highways and motorways. I have captured a fusion of these sounds below.
Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds in the sky, they do not reap nor gather into the barns, and trust that the Father will provide.
I can’t imagine life without children and lately I have a deep longing to see and hear my little nieces and nephews more than ever. They remind me that life is beautiful and that there are so many ways to enjoy life. They find the silliest of things to giggle about and seem to not have anything to care or worry about. We can learn quite a bit from them. They are like the prettiest flowers in your garden that always catch your eye and lift your spirits.
Psalm 127:3 - Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
Despite the circumstances, despite the uncertainty of today, we have one constant. Let’s enjoy our family, our children, our loved ones and the things around us while we can. Each of us have a lot to be thankful for. Let us count our blessings.
Psalm 118:24 - This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
