For those who do not have a garden, a lawn, or an area to grow flowers and vegetables, there are lots of ways to indulge in your love for plants. Container gardening is the way to go – find your favourite pot or container and fill them with seed or your favourite flowers or vegetables and watch them grow and spill over and provide you with joy. You can get the same pleasure out of container gardening. Be adventurous with your containers. I have seen old recycled tyres, kettles, a washbasin, a hat, a shoe be fashioned into containers that hold a variety of plants. Try different arrangements, practice with plant and pot colours, move your containers around to form designs, in short – experiment.
Amos 9:14 - And I will bring my people Israel back from exile. They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
Romans 15:7 - Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
A few weeks ago I was surprised to see these yellow flowers on plants that I thought were my Maltese cross plants. The leaves look very similar to the Maltese cross plant, but I was both surprised and delighted to see an inflorescence of cup-like golden yellow flowers that added a splash of colour to the red and pinks in my garden. While I am disappointed that my Maltese cross plants did not come up this year, I gladly welcome the new flowers to my garden and hope they will stay forever.
Life brings new people into our lives, I suggest you welcome them with open arms for they always bring a new idea, a fresh perspective or joy into your life. Not all scattered seed are weeds!!!
These Canadian sights will put anyone in a joyous mood, lift your spirits and put a spring in your step. With over 30 degrees temperatures this weekend, people are out and about with caution. Thank you Lord for bringing us out of the dark days of lockdown, unscathed.
Exodus 14:21 - Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
If you wish to disconnect from the outside world or declutter your mind, I suggest hiking or walking a trail. It brings your whole being and mind to a calm and tranquil state. It helps you be one with nature. It will change your perspective on silence. It is also an opportunity to contemplate life. Try it!
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
