You all know the feeling that surfaces with seeing a perennial come back in Spring, especially if it is one that you favour or love the most. This year, to my surprise the Lily of the Valley showed its humble yet extravagantly beautiful and fragrant self. I am deeply appreciative that despite the grim circumstances around the world we can focus on the beauty of nature, even if for a short while. They are known to be aggressive spreaders and poisonous too, but they are certainly welcome in my garden.
Song of Solomon 2:1 - I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
To my dearest mother who is far away physically but closest to my heart – Happy Mothers Day. You have been my mentor and guide growing up and to you I owe every value and ethic I have. Thank you for filling our lives with happiness and joy and laughter, for instilling in us love for God, for teaching us life and love and for standing by and supporting us even until today. You have been and will always be the most precious to us.
Proverbs 31:28-31 - Her children rise up and called her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'
Look at the close up of a weed below – the common Dandelion, and you can’t help but notice the vibrance of the colour and the beauty despite the fact that is a dreaded weed and gardeners detest seeing them in their lawns and gardens. A weed to one maybe a beautiful flower to another. It seems to be a good contender to the showy Forsythia.
Matthew 13:37 - He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom.
I am sharing pictures of a good friend’s garden since my flowers have not yet bloomed. This friend shares her plants with me and her joys as well. I can be myself around her and can learn from her enriching life experiences. Truly blessed to have her and other such friends in my life.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 -Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
